We all have a passion, something that drives us to move forward, often against all logic and usually with great risk, be it a hobby, an exotic land, a career, love for our family or the true passion for life itself. These passions distinguish those who smile from those who frown, those who strive for victory from those who accept defeat, and those who flourish from those who falter. I've been privileged to know two individuals who demonstrate all of the passions mentioned above. They revel in creativity, in foreign travel, in the success of their careers. They live for their children's dreams, and they express a true gratitude for the simple gift of life. But what I believe guides and inspires them on a day-to-day basis is an obscure passion, or an obsession even. Toto and Miki Mechali, founders and co-owners of Mama Vida, Inc., are passionate about changing and growing--constantly. As parents of two daughters ages 19 and 23, you'd imagine that regularity and consistency would be their obsession. As entrepreneurs facing a volatile market, you'd think that constant change would incite fear and apprehension. As immigrants from Middle Eastern countries, you'd assume they'd want to assimilate and stay removed from revolutionary change and bold life decisions. But these assumptions would be wrong. Toto and Miki Mechali thrive on change and growth.
